Calm

 Calm
“Find Your Calm”

In 2012, Calm began as a simple website asking people to “Do nothing for 1 minute.” It was an experiment that took hold and since then, Calm has been finding new ways to help people live happier and healthier lives. From sleep stories to music, masterclasses to movement exercises, and even physical products. Now Calm is the #1 mental health app in the app store and the first name that comes to mind for consumers when you say “meditation.”

During my time there, I touched on all aspects of the brand. From overseeing social voice to unlocking more product downloads through email strategy tests. We created large content marketing campaigns for celebrity partnerships. We built free online resource toolkits during the pandemic. We sponsored athletes protecting their mental health. and We launched the first ever video content on the app – short exercises that get you out of your head and into your body.

Through all these channels, we helped bring the discussion of mental health to the forefront of culture where we see it today.

Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello
“Breathe Into It”

For Mental Health Awareness Month in 2021, we partnered with Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes to bring mindfulness into the hands of as many young people as possible. Through this campaign, we shared tools, resources, and inspiration to help anyone begin their own meditation journey.

Mental Health Awareness Month
“Self Care Isn’t Selfish”

Part of the Breathe into it series was our “mental health awareness hub.” This was an interactive mood check-in aimed at Gen Z, where the users chose their mood and we responded with free content to help with the problem at hand. The site never went live, but the assets lived on social with the rest of our “Self-care isn’t selfish” campaign.

The Daily Move
“A New Kind of Movement”

As a primarily audio-based company, The Daily Move is Calm’s first ever video content series. hosted by Mel Mah, The Daily Move are short-form exercises that won’t break a sweat, but you’ll still feel great after.

The Daily Jay
“7-minutes a day to create your best self.”

We partnered with former monk and best-selling author Jay Shetty to help people develop new intentions and take positive action toward the life of their dreams. The Daily Jay is 7 minutes of inspiration and meditation you can easily bring into your life. You don’t need to close your eyes or find a special seat. Just put it on and feel ready for the day.

Naomi Osaka
“Mental Health is Health”

When Naomi announced she would be dropping out of the grand slam due to mental health, we were right there to support her and any player that prioritizes their mental health the same way they would their physical health. She lit the way athletes can care for their whole body and That’s why we covered her fees and donated on her behalf. A simple reminder that mental health is health.
